Diocese celebrates Mass of Thanksgiving for Pope Leo XIV
On May 18, the newly elected Pope Leo XIV marked the start of his Pontificate by celebrating the Inauguration Mass in Saint Peter’s Square, Vatican City, Rome. The same day, in solidarity with the Universal Church, the Diocese of San Bernardino celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini in Yucaipa, presided by Bishop Alberto Rojas. "We are so grateful,” Bishop Rojas said. “I know Pope Leo is going to continue to bring us exactly to the heart of the message of Jesus… love one another as the Lord Jesus has loved us." Concelebrating the Mass was Bishop Emeritus Gerald Barnes and Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus Rutilio del Riego. Many faithful parishioners joined the Mass, in-person and via livestream, to offer their prayers for the new pope. We pray, “Grant him, Lord Jesus, in Your boundless love for us, all the graces and blessings to fulfill his call to shepherd Your Church. Amen.”

Amen.”

Join us in celebrating the graduates of this year’s Continuing Ministry Formation Program (CMFP) on Jun 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Church in San Bernardino! These dedicated individuals have deepened their faith and formation to better serve their pastors and parish communities. Let us gather in prayer and gratitude for their commitment to ministry.
