"Urgent Warning"

4-17-2020-new scam information click here-updated scams

EOC has received an example of one of the MANY MANY scams and frauds that are being perpetrated on the public as a result of COVID19.

PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO ANY OF THESE WITHOUT VETTING THEM WITH EOC VIA EMAIL!

Today, the President announced a $1TRILION DOLLAR subsidy package with cash payments to individuals beginning in April….THIS IS ONLY MORE FODDER FOR THESE SCAM ARTISTS….they will outreach to you via email, cellphone robo calls, texts, and hard-mail flyers regarding ways to make you safe and help you financially with these payments.

DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THAT DOES NOT COME FROM A KNOWN AND LEGITIMATE SOURCE such as your personal or business banking/credit union institution, your credit card or department store account or EOC directly.

If you can, during this time of national emergency, eliminate all ‘ad’ pop-ups from your personal/home computer, Ipad, cellphone etc….it is too easy for the fraudsters to copy and recreate ones that are sooo similar to legitimate ones….selling everything from paper towels, to masks and gloves, to home safety and security devices and investment strategies. DO NOT RESPOND TO THEM….

While using the Diocesan email system, please adhere to the advice and instructions of IT, that they have issued in the past, with respect to emails of an unknown source. Forward those emails to IT and they will take care of it.

EOC will be participating in several conference calls and webinars during next 48 hours with respect to various COVID19 ‘recovery’ issues, including details on these April payments…as this information is available and has been vetted, it will be shared with you.

Do take the ultimate care and caution at this time in your personal affairs.
